"... conservatives espouse and at times clamour for their god because they tend to be hard-bitten realists if not outright cynics, they don't trust the citizenry and therefore want to see them controlled and religion is a wonderful inhibitor... liberals come across as more open minded and therefore willing to abide a godless universe because they're naive idealists and believe people are ultimately good and amenable to sweet reason... and so it is you see that what seems flawed in the one is actually an expression of a practical cunning whereas what seems refined and astute in the other is actually the reflection of a foolish vanity... which is not to suggest I'm ready to start pandering to the false piety of the fallen... but neither am I about to congratulate myself for being clever enough to abjure those cloistered souls..."
